Foto de Cuba

While scouring the web for something else entirely, I came across shots by a photographer by the name of Andrew of Cuba Gallery, a New Zealand-based site dedicated to design and photography.  I couldn't resist posting some of his breathtaking images.

There is a simplicity to his work that masks a wealth of subtext; a sort of iconic, homey Americana (yeah, I know, New Zealand-cana), but also an other-worldliness that imparts a jarring and mysterious quality.  I feel like there's something happening just out of sight of the camera, and it could be either magically wonderful, or deeply disturbing.

All these gorgeous, strange-yet-familiar shots are by Cuba Gallery.  Take a minute and visit the website for more.
